Profimed suture single-stranded. PROFIMED-PTFE surgical suture is a sterile single-stranded non-absorbable surgical suture made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) polymer. The use of PROFIMED-PTFE is not indicated for
ophthalmological procedures, as well as in microsurgery and peripheral nerve tissue. After implantation, the PROFIMED-PTFE surgical suture causes a very small local inflammation of the tissues, characteristic of the reaction to a foreign body, followed by the corresponding local growth of fibrous connective tissue.
