Otoscopes

Otoscopes of excellent quality made by the largest houses Heine, Riester, Welch Allyn. They are divided into wall-mounted otoscopes and portable otoscopes, while you can also find electronic video otoscopes. They are suitable for examination at a regular check-up, but also for investigating symptoms of the ear. The characteristics of the eardrum may be indicative of various diseases in the middle ear area.
The otoscope consists of three parts:
-The head, which includes a magnifying glass and a foreign halogen or LED lamp. Also, the projection of light is done either directly or indirectly through fiber optics (Fiber Optic). The magnifying glass offers a magnification of x3 or x4.2 (Heine Beta 400) and is made of crystal or special plastic that is not etched. Some heads also accept pneumatoscopy pouches.
-The handle, which provides power to the head. The handles are divided into rechargeable and alkaline battery handles. It is also possible to supply directly without the presence of a battery to a wall-mounted supply unit from the mains-socket (220V). Some handles offer brightness adjustment via a rheostat.
-The cones, which fit to the head of the otoscope and are usually disposable. Depending on their diameter (4mm – 2.5mm), it is used in adults or children. Reusable cones are usually made of bakelite fabric.
