The laryngeal masks – i-gel airway are a unique disposable product without latex and PVC. It is a state-of-the-art airway management device that has emerged after extensive research and development. The i-gel® is precisely and naturally placed over the laryngeal frame, providing a reliable peripheral seal without the need for cuffs. i-gel® takes its name from the soft gel material from which it is made. This key feature means that inserting the i-gel is easy, fast (in less than 5 seconds) and reliable.
Description
- Adults: indicated for securing and maintaining a patient’s airway under anesthesia and emergency, during spontaneous or intermittent positive pressure ventilation (IPPV), during resuscitation of the unconscious patient, and as a conduit for intubation under visual guidance in a known or unexpectedly difficult intubation, by personnel who are appropriately trained and experienced in the use of airway management techniques and devices.
- Paediatrics: i-gel is now available in four paediatric sizes, making it suitable for use in patients over 2kg. Paediatric i-gel® is indicated for securing and maintaining a patient’s airway under anesthesia and emergency, for surgeries during spontaneous or intermittent positive pressure ventilation (IPPV).
