USE
How to make a measurement
1. Lay the newborn on the mat after placing the ABS stops correctly and vertically
at 90° relative to the calibrated scale. The newborn’s head should rest
on the ABS stopping point, holding the newborn still with the left hand.
2. With your right hand, reach the stop on the calibrated scale at the feet of the newborn
.
3. Pay attention to keep the newborn’s legs straight. Suggest lightly pressing the newborn’s
knees with your left hand towards the flat point of the mattress.
4. When the stop terminal is placed on the soles of the child’s foot at right angles, read
the height indicated at the end of the calibrated mattress.
According to the suggestions indicated above, it is possible to make a very
accurate measurement.

INTERPRETATION
The measurement of newborn height is useful for determining the correct growth curve
through the calculation of percentiles, in combination with weight. The “weight and
height” of newborns can be compared to the reference curves called TannerWhitehouse. These curves are recognized by the lines (percentiles) that define the
field that is considered normal and acceptable according to age.
It is desirable that the growth curve is not too high or below the average
(50 percentile). One percentile of 50 (in the curvature line) in height means that 50%
of children of one’s age are taller and the other 50% less tall. The use of these curves
is to visualize the possible variations that may lead to the conclusion (and
consequently suggest and provoke a visit to a doctor) obesity, lack
of bone growth or low height.

CLEANING
Clean the mattress with a mild detergent or a soft cloth.
